The installer’s workmanship commitment and a manufacturer’s product or system coverage are different. Ask for the actual documents and the named responsible parties. A verbal description of a warranted roof is not a substitute for the terms.
Read the coverage and exclusions
Review covered defects, exclusions, notification requirements and remedies. Building changes, other trades, unusual exposures and maintenance can affect obligations. Ask us to explain how the proposed assembly qualifies for the specific warranty being offered.
Confirm completion requirements
Registration, inspections, fees or final documentation may be required for some warranties. Ask who handles each step and what proof the owner will receive. Retain the final documents rather than assuming the estimate itself establishes coverage.
Keep records throughout ownership
Maintain repair invoices, inspection reports and rooftop modification records. Before another trade changes penetrations or equipment, check the relevant requirements with the responsible provider or manufacturer. For interpretation of contractual rights, obtain appropriate professional advice.
